Assistant Manager Employment Opportunity

The Loretto is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, who will be vital to our restaurants day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain a friendly, relaxing demeanor, courteousness and quick service to retain repeat customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Oversee and manage areas of the restaurant and assist the Manager with final decisions on matters of importance to guest service
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Long, busy days on your feet are the trademark of this job.
  • Restaurant assistant managers are part of a team. You will be working with others to make a great dining experience. Being a team player is essential.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in full-service restaurant
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, record-keeping, and preparation of reports.
  • Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing.
  • Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team.
  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities.
  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with a diverse staff.

Back-of-the-House Employment Opportunities

The Loretto Bistro is currently looking for self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals with  experience as culinary chef/cook. Open availability is what we are looking for in the following positions:

  • Sous Chef
  • Breakfast Cook
  • Salad/Sandwich Cook
  • Pizza Cook
  • Dishwasher

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review menus
  • Follow safe food handling procedures
  • Follow proper procedure covering, dating, labeling, storing of food in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chef

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Food handlers certification
  • 6-months experience in full-service cooking
  • Ability to read and prepare recipes
  • Knowledge of and ability to conform food service sanitation practices

Front-of-the-House Employment Opportunities

We are looking for friendly, reliable and high energy waiters or waitresses.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Take restaurant reservations
  • Set tables with clean linen or placemats, cutlery, and glasses
  • Welcome and seat customers and hand menus to them
  • Talk to guest about the menu and drinks and recommend combinations
  • Promote local produce
  • Take customers orders and pass them to kitchen staff
  • Serve food and drinks
  • Makeup bill and present them to customers
  • Handle money and credit cards
  • Clear tables and return dishes and cutlery to kitchen
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Food handler’s certification is a must
  • 6-months experience in full-service restaurant
  • Be bilingual
